All of mankind is separated from God because of sin. We can not reach heaven because of a religion, church membership, or by being a good person (not even a really great person). God, and only God, can breach the gap that sin creates in the relationship with man.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.”

We must realize that we are all sinners and that we need forgiveness. All of us have done or thought things that God does not want us to. We are not worthy of God’s favor or love. And yet God loves and values us more than we love and value each other or ourselves. We can do nothing to make him love us more or less.

John 3:16-17 “For this is the way God loved the world: he gave his one and only Son that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.”

God does not offer us salvation because of who we are – He offers salvation because of who He is, and His overwhelming love for us.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God does not love just some of us because they are good – he loves each of us no matter what we have done (“while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”). And because of His love he through Jesus, gave us the way to be saved from our sins. God showed us His love by giving us the option for life through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If we do not accept God’s gift of salvation we will die and face eternal separation from him. However, if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and repent of our sins, he will give us eternal life.

Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Just confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved!

Romans 10:13 “For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

There are no religious formulas or rituals – simply call out to the Lord and you will be saved!

If you believe and want to accept God’s gift of salvation, acknowledge and confess your sins and turn the rest of your life over to Jesus Christ. This is not a ritual based on any specific words or prayers, but rather, a willful decision and a sincere step of faith.

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me live the life you want for me. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was raised from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayers. I want Jesus to guide and direct me and to become my Lord, to rule and reign in my heart from now on. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

Salvation is far more than just going to church. It is a decision to give control of your life to God: to accept his correction and guidance in all areas of your life. He will grant you freedom from your past and give you a future and far more than you can hope or dream.

To help you grow in your walk with God we encourage you to join us or any other Christ centered church. We can be reached by calling (509) 628-8272, emailing reataspringsbc@verizon.net, or by dropping by the church at 2830 Leopold Lane off of Leslie Rd in Richland. In addition tell someone who has been praying for you that you’ve accepted Jesus as your savior.
